Monaco students taking the baccalaureate exams have achieved “excellent results,” the Government said. An overall pass rate of 96.8 percent was achieved, including 321 special mentions. Only 14 students at Monaco’s schools failed their ‘bac.’

A total of 68 out of 69 candidates from Lycée Albert 1er and the Lycée Technologique et Hôtelier passed.

“These performances bear witness to the remarkable commitment of the entire educational community of the public and private secondary schools under contract of the Principality in the daily coaching work they conduct with their students,” the Government said.

Meanwhile the baccalaureate pass rate in France fell by 1.1 percent from 2018, with an overall success rate of 77.7 percent. The exam process has not been easy, with about 2,000 teachers engaged to mark the exams going on strike. Approximately five percent of French baccalaureate candidates were affected, and the Ministry of Education said that all papers will be marked by Monday, July 8.
