Monegasque Charles Leclerc was unable to finish the German Grand Prix at Hockenheim on Sunday, July 28, after spinning off the track and becoming stuck in gravel. The 21 year-old Ferrari driver had been in second place, challenging Lewis Hamilton, when the incident happened on the 29th lap.

Leclerc was placed 17th in the race itself, having done very well in practice and qualifying sessions on Friday and Saturday.

Wold Champion Hamilton also came unstuck in the rainy conditions, finishing the race in 11th place. Max Verstappen took first place for Red Bull, followed by Sebastian Vettel for Ferrari and Daniil Kvyat in third place for Toro Rosso.
