The Ambassador of Monaco in France has celebrated the anniversary of the accession of His Royal Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco to a reception held at the Pavillon Dauphine in Paris.
HE Mr Christophe Steiner and his wife welcomed more than 450 guests, including several former Ministers of the Republic, a large number of Ambassadors accredited in France and the Principality, representatives of International organisations with their headquarters in France, Deputies and Senators, senior officials and members of ministerial cabinets, several high personalities of the political, economic, judicial, scientific and cultural worlds as well as many Monegasques living in Paris and Ile-de-France.
The UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Oceans, HE Mr. Peter Thomson expressed his gratitude for the constant commitment of HSH Prince Albert to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.
HE Mr Christophe Steiner spoke of several important events due to be held in Monaco, such as the presentation in September of the IPCC special report on the ocean and the cryosphere in the context of climate change. The Ambassador also welcomed the willingness of France, currently chairing the G7, to make climate change one of its priorities.
