Monaco’s new fleet of 20 electric taxis has won the approval of users and operators and during the first month of testing in July more than 8,000 trips were taken in the ‘green’ machines.
The initiative, the result of a successful collaboration between state services, elected representatives of the National Council and the Association of Independent Taxis Operators of Monaco (AETIM), has been declared such a success that it is now possible to take the taxis into neighbouring municipalities.
Customers boarding in Monaco can now reach Cap d’Ail, Beausoleil and Roquebrune Cap Martin (up to the roundabout of Quatre Chemins) according to the tariff in force for these municipalities.
