The second commission of the United Nations General Assembly held a meeting on the theme of “information and communication technologies for sustainable development” on October 18

Jean-Laurent Imbert, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Monaco to the United Nations, presented the strategy and the actions of the Government in terms of digital transition, highlighting the turning point of the Principality in this area.

Mr Imbert presented the latest innovations implemented by the Prince’s Government and announced the next major steps in the “Extended Monaco” programme, stressing: “Whether Smart-City, blockchain, e-health, or e-education, digital technology concerns many areas.

“The growing importance of this sector, both a creator of wealth and a vector of innovation, will contribute to achieving our goals in terms of sustainable development, as well as improving the quality of life.”

He also presented an overview of the Monegasque public service in the coming years, with the future deployment of digital security, digital identity and the development of e-administration.
