Not exactly subtle, but charming in its own way, is a watch being auctioned in Monaco on Saturday, December 7. The Corum watch face is a Rolls-Royce radiator grill complemented by a tiny ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ mascot.

Relatively few were made, and they were not considered especially collectable until recently, according to GQ Magazine, but now prices are on the rise, as evinced by the estimate on this favoured hand-wound (as opposed to quartz) example produced in the early nineties. €6,000-12,000.

The auction takes place at 15:00 on December 7 at 13 blvd. Princesse Charlotte, with a preview on Friday, December 6, from 11:00 until 20:00.
