The orange alert declared by Meteo France was lifted on Friday, December 20, with a yellow alert in force on Sunday as high winds and strong gusts battered the coast.

On Friday, several flights were cancelled and landings were suspended for a time during the afternoon. In Nice, part of the Promenade des Anglais was closed to both traffic and pedestrians due to high winds, and as a result of a rockfall the A8 was closed in both directions at just after 17:00 above Menton. Several roads are closed along the coast, and in Menton itself the road along the seafront was closed after part of it was undermined by the waves and a large hole appeared.

The ongoing strike against pension reform in France continues to impact the rail service, with only a small number of trains running through Monaco Monte-Carlo. Two out of five TER trains were expect to operate on Monday, December 23.

Meanwhile the 110 Airport Express service continues to operate as normal.
