The Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer Group has been awarded two new Green Globe certifications: the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo becomes the first certified restaurant in the world, while the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo has been rewarded for its five years of continuous commitment, the first certified Gold Standard spa in the world.

Green Globe uses more than 300 indicators to assess hotel establishments’ approach to sustainable development. For the first time in its history, it is not a hotel but a restaurant that has been awarded the Green Globe certification: the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo.

The legendary Place du Casino cafe was rewarded both for policies carried out in terms of sustainable development, such as the proactive policy of minimising waste and plastic using suitable sorting devices, but also for its societal approach through raising customer awareness of the challenges of sustainable development, by donating food to associations such as Les Anges Gardiens and La Soupe de Nuit. The restaurant joined the Mr.Goodfish programme in November 2019.

“This Green Globe certification is the embodiment of the work of all the teams at the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo, which makes our establishment the first restaurant to be Green Globe certified,” said Stefano Brancato, General Manager of the Café de Paris.
