The third in a series of meetings of energy transition officials and the press took place on Monaday, February 10, in the presence of Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Infrastructure, Environment and Town planning.

She said: “Thanks to you, members of the press, the procedures that are carried out are publicised and allow all of our community, Monegasques, residents and employees, to discover them. Thank you for that because the support and cooperation of the media in the evolution of our country towards a low-carbon society is essential.”

Annabelle Jaeger-Seydoux, Director of MTE, added: “These meetings are important because they allow us to know about the work carried out in the Principality in favour of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the three most important areas: energy, mobility and waste.

Four speakers presented their own involvement: Benoîte de Sévelinges, Director of the Princess Grace Hospital Center, in terms of the establishment’s mobility plan; Céline Varenio, Head of Sorting Ambassadors for the Monegasque Sanitation Company (SMA) on the “Zero Waste Family Challenge”; Guillaume Tarro-Tomà, Head of Global Services at SBM Offshore, on dealing with cigarette butts of employees of the Company, via the Company EcoMégots; and Sébastien Duprat, Managing Director of the Start-up Cycle Up, on the principle of the circular economy in the context of construction sites, in particular that of Villa Carmelha.

The presentations were followed by a period of intense discussion with the journalists present.
