Tournament Director Zeljko Franulovic has unveiled the outlines of the 114th edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, which will take place from April 11 to 19, 2020, on the clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club.

He announced that ATP has awarded the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters “the Award of Excellence for most improved venue in 2019.” This award recognises all of the new infrastructure that was launched last year, including a restaurant and lounge for players, and an interview room.

The 2020 edition will see the opening of a cocktail bar in place of the Rolex Boutique on the terraces of the Monte-Carlo Country Club. The American artist Lee Wybranski has designed this year’s poster.

Regarding the players, Zeljko Franulovic said: “alongside the world No. 1 and No. 2 Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal already registered, we are preparing to welcome the best world players as every year. The final official list of players will be available on our website from March 19.”

The 114th edition will kick off with the title holder, Fabio Fognini, during the draw which will take place on the terraces of the Thermes Marins de Monte-Carlo, Friday April 10 at 18:30.

Alain Manigley, President and CEO of SMETT, also announced the arrival of Chris Kermode, former CEO of the ATP World Tour, to the organising team of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters as a consultant.

Organised by the Monaco Society for the Operation of the Tennis Tournament (SMETT), the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is the first European tournament in the category of ATP Masters 1000.
