A rare Ferrari F40 dating from the end of the 1980s caught fire on ave Princesse Grace just before 16:00 on Tuesday afternoon, causing a major traffic jam in both directions. The car was totally destroyed.
The owners, Monaco residents, escaped without injuries and the Monaco Fire Service extinguished the flames within a short time. Only 1,300 cars of the type were built and its value is estimated at more than one million euros.
