HSH Prince Albert has tested positive for the coronavirus. He continues to work between his office and his private apartments and his condition is not giving any cause for concern.

He is under the medical supervision of the coronavirus specialists at Princess Grace Hospital. The Prince is the first head of state to contract the virus.

The Sovereign has again taken the opportunity to remind the population to observe a policy of limited movement. Only a strict observation of these rules will stop the further spread of this virus.

Prince Albert told French-language daily Monaco Matin by telephone later in the evening that he wanted to make it clear that he was not lying ill in bed.

Earlier this week the Minister of State, Serge Telle, also tested positive for the virus.
