Minister of State Serge Telle said on Wednesday afternoon that an exceptional bonus will be paid to public officials who are involved in the coronavirus health crisis. The bonus will be 1,000 euros.

It is not yet clear which sectors will be rewarded, although medical workers are in the front line as are members of the emergency services.

Mr Telle, who is recovering from the virus himself, said that the payment will be made at the behest of HSH Prince Albert as “the manifestation of the gratitude of the State.”

Details will be discussed with the National Council during meetings of the Monitoring Committee, the first of which will be held on Monday, March 30, unless brought forward to Saturday.
