The Prince’s Palace said on Thursday that the Sovereign is doing well following the announcement seven days ago that he had contracted the coronavirus.

The sovereign continues to work “and remains in permanent contact with the members of his cabinet, of his government as well as with his closest collaborators,” according to a press release from the Prince’s Palace published at noon on Thursday, March 26.

The Prince is receiving daily visits from his doctor, the Palace said, adding: “He is followed by specialists from the Princess Grace Hospital who have no concerns about the development of his state of health.”

The Sovereign took the opportunity to remind the people of Monaco of the importance of respecting containment measures and limiting contact with others.

“Only rigorous observance of these rules can stop the spread of the coronavirus,” Prince Albert said. A further bulletin is expected within a few days.
