A further case of coronavirus in Monaco was announced on Saturday, March 28, bringing the total number of people affected to 43.
In its statement on Saturday evening, the Government expressed its sadness over the death of a person hospitalised at Princess Grace Hospital following a severe cardiac event and found positive for coronavirus. The individual was an octogenarian, non-resident in Monaco, who had been admitted to intensive care on Wednesday, March 25.
The Government is offering the victims’s family its full support during these trying times. This is a moment of great sadness which demonstrates the importance of remaining fully mobilised while respecting the health precautions rules laid down by the Prince’s Government.
It should be noted that the Princess Grace Hospital also serves neighbouring communities, so the total number of coronavirus cases does not refer only to those relating to Monegasques and Residents.
The Monaco Government has also extended the lockdown period first imposed on March 17 until April 15, including the nighttime curfew from 22:00 until 05:00 each day.
