The Monaco Government has announced three more cases of coronavirus in the Principality, taking the total to date to 49.

In neighbouring France, a record number of hospital patients died from the coronavirus in the last 24-hour reporting period, the highest daily toll so far. The figure represented a 16-percent increase on the day before, and took the total of fatalities to 3,024. Nursing home fatalities will be taken into account later this week.

In Italy, the downward trend of the last two days was reversed with the announcement of 812 new deaths, taking the total to 11,591 and total infections to 101,739. However, the number of new cases rose by the smallest number since March 17, 4,050.

In the UK, 180 new deaths were reported, the lowest daily rise in coronavirus deaths since last Thursday.

Late on Monday, the US figures showed 385 new deaths, 17,553 new cases, and a total number of infections at 161,088. So far, 2,968 people have died in the US from coronavirus.
