UPDATED April 2 02:00: Three more cases of coronavirus were reported in Monaco early on Wednesday evening, April 1, taking the total to 55. Twelve of the total are in hospital and two are in intensive care.

In the UK, the number of new deaths in the 24-hour reporting period to 14:00 UK time on April 1 was 563, another record.
Just 2,000 of NHS frontline staff forced to stay home by have been tested to see if they have the disease or can return to work, Downing Street has admitted.
The figure – which makes up only a tiny fraction of the 125,000 frontline staff currently self-isolating – emerged as the government faced mounting criticism for its failure to move to mass testing for coronavirus, the Guardian reported.
France has reported 4,861 new cases and 509 new deaths, the highest number of daily deaths, but a significant fall in new cases.
In Spain, there were 6,213 new cases and 589 new deaths, both lower.
Italy has reported 727 new deaths and that the number of confirmed infections, including deaths, recovered and current cases, had risen by 4,782, taking the total to 110,574.
Meanwhile, the US repored 1,046 new deaths and a spike in new cases of 21,609. The US is now the epicentre of the coronavirus epidemic.
