Residents will receive invitations by post during the week starting May 18 to attend one of two centres to be tested for coronavirus, the Government announced on Thursday, May 14. The Grimaldi Forum (Espace Ravel) and the Espace Léo Ferré in Fontvieille will serve as the test centres. Attendance is voluntary.
The Government has 50,000 tests in hand and more on the way and the testing process will be completed during June. The centres will be open from 08:00 until 18:00 daily and will have a capacity of 4,000 residents a day.
Seven hundred people who may have had exposure to the virus have already been tested, and the results have shown that fewer than two percent have been in contact with the virus. These first figures are “encouraging,” the Government said, adding that they show that the lockdown in Monaco slowed the spread of the virus “considerably.”
