Monaco Town Hall announced on Friday that major events planned for the summer months will not go ahead due to the coronavirus crisis. These include the fireworks competition, which normally take place over four Saturdays in July and August, the Fête de la Musique on June 21 and the Rock’s summer carnival, slated for July 10. The Rainier III Academy gala concert on June 24 is also cancelled.

There will also be no festivities or public entertainment on Port Hercule, the Town Hall said. The decision has been taken because of the continued need for social distancing. However, with the likelihood of a summer heatwave, the Town Hall will make sure that suitable public spaces will provide much-needed shade, but without live entertainment.
