Monaco residents and motoring enthusiasts may recall this tragic scene in which a straight piped Ferrari F40 burst into flames at the Portier corner in February.

As you would expect, the pictures of the aftermath are just as painful to observe. Unexpectedly, the Ferrari Monte-Carlo garage is taking on the task of fully rebuilding and restoring the car to its previous glory. Just take a look:

Taking one look at these pictures from the Ferrari facility proves just how great this challenge is, but this is an icon and a collector’s dream. If this is completed according to plan it will surely be among the best examples of modern motor restoration, but only time will tell.
