A Monaco footballer has tested positive for coronavirus, the club said on Thursday, June 25.

AS Monaco players had returned to the La Turbie training ground on June 22 for medical and physical tests, and it was during this process that the diagnosis was made.

“Serological screening tests and PCR, aiming to detect the presence of coronavirus, were also conducted with players and AS Monaco staff. These tests revealed the presence of two previous cases, dating back to the period of containment. The two players are no longer contagious and are continuing the recovery program. Tests also revealed an active and asymptomatic case. The player’s state of health is not a concern.”

The player is in 14-days quarantine at his home and is under the supervision of the club’s medical staff working in conjunction with the health authorities.
