On a visit to Larvotto Beach on Tuesday, Marie-Pierre Gramaglia, Minister of Infrastructure, Environment and Town Planning, said that the Government had worked hard to reopen the beach this season.
“When this beach opens in a few days, it is thanks to the efforts of all the teams who continued their work during the lockdown period, in strict compliance with health measures. I want to thank them,” she said.
The Government was certain that Monegasques and residents would come out of lockdown happy to find the space and freedom that Larvotto allows, the Minister said.
The beach will be accessible to the public from Saturday July 4 until Sunday September 13. It will be open between 07:00 and 20:00 in July and August and from 08:00 to 19:00 in September. The quality of bathing water is controlled, as every year during the summer season, by the Department of the Environment.
The entrance and exit will be separated to facilitate social distancing. There will be toilet and food facilities. The Palais du Maillot de bain will offer snacks and the Miami, a brasserie service. An anti jellyfish net will be set up as every year.
The car park will remain open with limited capacity and with only one access ramp. Work will continue behind a fence all summer long with the goal of fully opening the beach and shops in the summer of 2021.
