Monaco has introduced a 1.90-euro stamp representing L’lndolence, a painting by the impressionist painter Eva Gonzalés (1849-1883) whose paternal grandfather was Monegasque.
The work belongs to the collection of the Prince of Monaco. The stamp was issued on June 25 and the designer was Geoffroy Moufflet.
A stamp of 2.00 euros was issued at the same time, and represents the historic sites of the Grimaldi family. In 2015 Jean-Claude Guibal, Deputy-Mayor of Menton and President of the France-Monaco Friendship Group of the National Assembly, instigated an association that commemorates the ties between Monaco and towns and regions in France with which the Grimaldi family shares historic ties. HSH Prince Albert is the Honorary President.
